9 Gluten Free Desserts to Celebrate Canada Day and Independence Day

With Canada Day and Independence Day quickly approaching, I thought I would share some easy to adapt recipes that I have on my blog. By changing the fruit, icing, or sprinkles to red or blue, these 9 Gluten Free Desserts are perfect to Celebrate Canada Day and Independence Day.

Top Left – Gluten Free Fresh Fruit Trifle
By using blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries, you can create a fun dish that is big enough to serve a crowd. Trifles are best made in advance, up to a day before, so they are perfect for entertaining.

Top Center – Gluten Free Ice Cream Sandwiches
Roll the edges of these gluten-free Ice Cream Sandwiches in coloured sprinkles to help you keep cool while celebrating.

Top Right – Gluten free Strawberry Shortcake
Perfect as is to celebrate Canada Day, use a combination of strawberries and blueberries to help you celebrate the 4th of July.

Middle Right – Gluten Free Confetti Cupcakes
These gluten free cupcakes have serious potential. I’d use red sprinkles in the cupcakes, topped with a beautiful white buttercream icing, and sprinkled with red or blue coarse sugar or more sprinkles on top. I think I just may make some of these for Canada Day this year.

Bottom Right – Gluten Free Fruit Pizza
Top this gluten free sugar cookie with red fruit, leaving spaces for the cream cheese icing to show through for Canada Day, and red and blue fruit for Independence Day. Everyone will love it!

Bottom Middle – Gluten Free Sour Cream Sugar Cookies
Top these soft drop cookies with white icing, and red (or red and blue) sprinkles, are you’re sure to put a smile on someone’s face.

Bottom Left – Gluten Free Rolled Sugar Cookies
Use maple leaf or star cookie cutters to show your patriotic side, decorate them with the kids for an afternoon of fun.

Middle Left – Jello Popcorn
By making 2 or 3 batches of popcorn, leaving one plain (white), colouring one red (Strawberry or Raspberry flavour), and blue (Berry Blue flavour), you can create a tasty patriotic snack.

Not Pictured – Gluten Free Creamy Cookie Pizza
Top this jumbo chocolate chip cookie with your favorite red (or red and blue) candies. Drizzle with some white chocolate, and enjoy!
