That is hilarious, Crystal! Unfortunately, my granola bars didn’t turn out great, but at least the sweetened condensed milk was good. 🙂

Now I only have to add “powdered skim milk” to my cupboard … Because I don’t have that either 😉But it may come in handy.

Betty, cheaper is better, right?? 🙂 Plus, you can make it when you need it, and it’s the equivalent to one can, so it doesn’t get much better than that. 🙂Frix, I find that a lot of GF bread recipes call for powdered milk, so I now stock it. I’ve never had it in my cupboard before going gf.

Can I make this dairy free?

For dairy free, you could try substituting the powdered skim milk with powdered soy milk, which should be available at health food/natural food stores.

Now I wonder just how many people will stop eating condensed milk now that they know the contents. I think the have changed the evaporated milk too, as we didn’t used to have to shake it. – Margaret
