The Need for Change from The Baking Beauties to Faithfully Gluten Free

Hang on there – don’t click away! If you intended to search out your favourite gluten free recipe from The Baking Beauties, you’re at the right place.

For the past 7 years I’ve been sharing recipes under The Baking Beauties, and over that time, things have changed. I felt that the name, The Baking Beauties, no longer suited this site. I’ve been struggling with wanting to rename for two years, but of all the names I came up with, nothing felt right.

I felt stuck. I wanted to change. I saw the need for change. I felt the need to change. I just didn’t know what I wanted to change to. It is draining when you feel you should be moving forward with something, but don’t know where to go. I knew I didn’t want to change the way I did things, I just wanted a name that better reflected what I do. Then one day it came to me. Faithfully Gluten Free.Β  When I discovered that the name was available, I knew it was “the one”. I thought that it fitted this site perfectly, and knew it was time to finally move forward. It was time for the Baking Beauties to end, and time for Faithfully Gluten Free to begin.

Why did I feel the need for change? I simply felt The Baking Beauties no longer suited this site.

First off – I am one person, even though the title would suggest that this site is run by more than one. Since the site was originally started with a friend, we used a plural name.

Secondly – I do more than just baking. I didn’t want to limit myself by stating one style of cooking in my site’s name.

And thirdly – I wanted people to know the instant they came to the site that I only share gluten free recipes. With a name like Faithfully Gluten Free, they are sure to know immediately.

Why did I think Faithfully Gluten Free was right for me?

Looking up the definitions of “faithful”, I felt this was a great fit for the site. Learners Dictionary defines faithful as:

  • showing true and constant support or loyalty
  • deserving trust
  • exact and accurate

Over the years, I feel that I have proven myself faithful to helping the gluten free community. People have come to trust my recipes, and for that I am grateful. I look forward to building on the foundation that I’ve built over these past 7 years, and I’m excited to see where the future will bring us.

    Hi Jeanine

Love the new name. We new to the gluten free world. My daughter who has type 1 diabetes was just diagnosed in May with Celiac disease. I have always made everything from scratch so your site has been a life saver for my daughter.

Thanks so much for doing this

Hi Karen, thanks so much for popping by! In May – wow, that’s very recent! It’s a pretty steep learning curve, but let me tell you, it gets easier! If you ever have questions, feel free to ask. I may not know the answer, but I can usually find it.

Wow! Great change! Am always referring people to your site so I will have to make a note of it!!!
The reason I refer people is because your recipes consistantly work, are enjoyable to the prairie palate and the ingrediants are generally easily to find.
You really make life easier for
a growing number of people who have to make this change in their life!

Your site is one I check faithfully when looking for GF recipes or when people ask me what is a good GF site. When so many other have veered off in many directions (Paleo, dairy-free, etc), you have remind true to your roots – and I greatly appreciate that!

All the best with the new and exciting next phase!
