Laced with cayenne pepper and cinnamon, and filled with a rich, decadent ganache before being topped with a silky smooth frosting, these Gluten Free Mexican Hot Chocolate Cupcakes are not your standard chocolate cupcake.

With Valentine’s rushing up on us, I though I would share a recipe for the “must have” cupcakes for the chocolate lover. This may look like another standard chocolate cupcake, but let me tell you, not all chocolate cupcakes are created equally, and once you’ve sunk your teeth into these, you will understand that. The light, airy texture of the cupcake, with the kick of cayenne and cinnamon, pair beautifully with the smooth ganache filling. The only thing that makes it better is the super chocolatey frosting that gets piped on top. Spice up your Valentine’s Day, or any day, with these indulgent Gluten Free Mexican Hot Chocolate Cupcakes.

To view and print this recipe, head on over to Be Well where you can also read about the personality behind my cupcake. Also, view 8 other cupcake personalities (not gluten free, sorry), and vote for the one that represents you to be entered to WIN one of 6 $25 Sobeys Gift Cards.

Hi Jeanine, Can you please post the recipe on your blog? I just went to the Be Well blog and it is blocked. Could it be because I live in Australia? Is there a geo-block on their blog? Thanks.

This looks so good! Sticking to a gluten-free diet is really difficult, especially for me because I have a sweet tooth. I’ve tried a couple of recipes, and none of them came out tasting good enough. Hopefully, this one comes out perfect. If you fail at baking, you can always have gluten-free treats delivered to you. Kelly’s XO has a wide variety of gluten-free treats and they deliver as well! You can check them out here – http://kellysxo.com/delivery
