Gluten Free Canada Day Confetti Cupcakes | The Baking Beauties

Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian readers! I hope you are all having a fantastic long weekend. We have had absolutely gorgeous weather here all weekend, and have been enjoying a very relaxing weekend at home. Today we went to the local Mennonite museum, where the kids got Canada Day stickers, tattoos, and flags. My 7 year old son & I baked these Gluten Free Confetti Cupcakes for Canada Day – he learned all about fractions, how to crack an egg, and that if you want to keep on eating, you have to wash the dishes. 🙂

To make these cupcakes special for Canada Day, we used the Gluten Free Confetti Cupcake recipe, used red and white cupcake liners, red sprinkles, white buttercream, and special maple leaf sprinkles for on top.

What kind of fun things does your community do for Canada Day? Besides free admission to the museum this morning, there is entertainment, cupcakes (not gf), glowsticks, and fireworks tonight. Since the fireworks are so late, and my  husband has an early morning tomorrow, I don’t know if we’ll bother going to see them.

Happy Birthday, Canada!

Exceptional photo! Cupcakes are our Canada tradition! We used a GF mix…and whipping cream/creamcheese frosting which was a big hit!!!! But we didn’t have maple leaf spirnkles! …sigh!

Haha, we had to stop and pick some up just for Canada Day. Your cupcakes sound fantastic as well, love anything with cream cheese/whipped cream frosting.

Such pretty cupcakes, Jeanine! I love that your son is finding out that in order to eat, dishes have to be washed..did he make a face at that?? 😉

Thanks, Betty! Funny thing – he tried to run off when I said “Ok, now we have to do the dishes”. Gave me the deer-in-the-headlights look, then tried to sneak away. But, he ended up drying the dishes!
